Mirroring is when someone imitates your body language, tone of voice, or speech patterns. When we like people, we mirror their behavior on a subconscious level. Even in a situation where a guy is speaking to a group of girls. It’s the girl his torso is facing that he’s got his eye on even if he’s not having a direct talk with her. Whether through social stereotypes or cultural conditioning, guys are often misunderstood, especially by women.
But if he regularly texts you when you call him, understand that you—or your needs—are getting brushed off. If you are on the receiving end of a brush-off technique, quickly identify it as such and then consider moving the heck on. Someone who has something to hide will always be on guard. You may not even be the type of person who goes through their partner’s phone, but he wouldn’t want to tempt fate. However, if a guy is serious about you, there are clear signs that indicate his love for you. In fact, a 2018 study from The University of Alberta showed that men and women across all cultures use similar behaviors when they like someone. So if you think a man is into you, they are probably exhibiting signs that you might do yourself.
If the two of you haven’t agreed to date exclusively, the chances of him keeping his options open are even bigger. If he avoids “the talk” and prefers to remain without labels, there is your cue. You can tell by observing changes in his behavioral pattern.

Just because a person isn’t interested in a serious relationship with you doesn’t mean they don’t genuinely like you. He might just like spending time with you, think you’re really fun and interesting, and enjoy your connection exactly as it is right now. They’re maybe not listening to you (see #3), or they might be more interested in a physical relationship than a real relationship. If your partner has been engaged at least once but has never made it to the altar, they may like the idea of marriage and engagement and just be afraid of commitment. Or your partner could have realized that the person they were engaged to was not a good fit. When someone wants to get married sooner rather than later, they may constantly talk about all of the happily married couples they know and how they want that too. When these hints are dropped, it is best to have a straightforward conversation about your marriage goals. Regardless of your intentions, marriage is not something you should ever rush into. Always proceed with caution when the person you’re dating is pressuring you to get married before you’re ready.
